Drop the Arms and Lock In

Marat Safin and David Nalbandian demonstrate the fully dropped position of the two handed backhand. Their shoulders have slightly uncoiled while their left hitting arm has dropped below the level of the ball and completely straightened. Their hands have flexed down to get the racket to point down to the ground at a 45 degree angle.

They have completely shifted their weight onto their front leg. See how their front knee is slightly bent.

It is important that the butt of the racket faces forward and the strings of the racket face the left side fence.
